08 Jul 2014 | Posted by anchous |There was a need to convert a PowerPoint presentation file (*.ppt) into a *.swf flash movie. It would seem that it could be simpler, but we are dealing with Microsoft products, incl. such a rather trivial export, it turns out, can turn into a dance with tambourines.
There are several add-ins available for Microsoft PowerPoint to perform similar procedure, but they cost money and quite a lot: iSpring Pro for $300 and PowerFlashPoint for $100. There is also a website on the Internet, but I didn’t really want to hand over the fruits of my labors to online tools, because you never know where they might pop up. And the test export took 5 minutes, during which I managed to convert the same file in a different way.
So I had to think about the free envelope method.
Using native PowerPoint, you can convert manually by resaving the presentation in the page-by-page Windows Metafile format (*.wmf), and then dragging it into a newly created Flash document with an extension of 720 x 540.
But there you will have to actually create a flash drive from scratch, which didn’t really suit me, because... I needed to convert about 10 files, so after Googling, I found out that it turns out that this is done by default OpenOffice Impress . Today I want to write an article in which I will tell you how you can convert a created presentation into Flash format. I'll review a good program iSpring Pro, with which we will convert the PowerPoint presentation to Flash format (.swf).
Let's talk a little about why it is necessary to create a Flash video from a presentation. This is very convenient for creating online presentations, for publishing presentations on a website, and for simple viewing on a computer. For example, in order to view a presentation in a regular format .ppt, you need PowerPoint installed on your computer. And the iSpring Pro program allows you to convert your presentation even into .exe format that will allow you to open it on any computer.

Download and install the iSpring Pro program
The program itself is paid, it costs 3,490 rubles. But there is an opportunity to test the program for free for 30 days. You can check it out, and if you like it, then buy the full version.
First you need to download the program.
To download the trial version, you need to register. Enter your data and click “Continue”.
A page will appear on which click on the “Download” button, and the program will begin downloading immediately, you will only need to choose whether to save the installation file, or run it immediately. I advise you to run it, installation will begin immediately after downloading.
Also on this page there is a registration name and license key, they will need to activate the trial version of the program. Therefore, do not close this page yet, and if you close it, the activation data has still been sent to your email.

Working with iSpring Pro
As I already wrote, iSpring Pro integrates with PowerPoint. When you launch iSpring Pro, you will only see a button “Launch PowerPoint”.
We launch PowerPoint, no matter which way, and we see that a new tab called “iSpring Pro” has appeared on the toolbar. Clicking on it will open a number of tools that you need to work with to create and convert a presentation to Flash format.
A message should appear that the trial period will end in 30 days.
Let's now go through the tabs and I will briefly describe the tools.

I've opened an example presentation to show you how to save it in Flash format.
Our presentation is already ready, we just click on the button “Publish”. A window will open in which you can select the saving method, format, configure the player, etc.
As you can see, you can choose the saving method: WEB, burn to CD, iSpring Online and LMS. Then you need to choose where to save the presentation, computer, FTP, or Email. You can choose to publish all slides or only selected ones. You can select and customize a player template for viewing your presentation.
Well in “Conversion Mode”, select the format we need. Everything is very simple and functional. After making all the settings, click the button “Publish”.
After the conversion, a window will open to view the presentation and the folder in which we saved the presentation.
That's it. Everything is ready. We just created a presentation in a few minutes and converted it to .swf format. Working with iSpring Pro is a pleasure, a good and well-thought-out interface, many features, integration into PowerPoint, all this deserves attention.
