By the way, I consider the iPhones of the next generations to be unnecessary show-offs, there is no real meaning in them. This is normal, because it is technologically advanced and makes the products recognizable. Nokia also clearly demonstrates two constantly used technical solutions– phone in a “box” and phone “in a box”! The “box” is a candy bar with a removable thin back cover, and the “box” is the body of the smartphone, removed from the “box” cover. Lumia 530 is a typical “box” - the system module with a display is removed to install SIM cards, memory and battery from the back wall with pronounced side edges, like from a coffin. The plastic cover is made of colored plastic, not painted, which prevents the device from accumulating scratches and abrasions. The advantages of the solution are strength and reliability, the disadvantages are somewhat difficult disassembly, which a device with two SIM cards, in general, does not need...
The layout of the controls is traditional: unlock and volume are on the right, USB is on the bottom, headphones are on top. The control keys are reflected on the display, so, as is clear, they are highlighted, which is incredibly pleasing. Buttons without backlight are also found in devices costing 9-10 thousand rubles, which is incredibly annoying in the dark. Moreover, interestingly, when taking a screenshot, the bottom strip of the screen with the keys is not included in the screenshot!
Thanks to the optimal screen diagonal from the point of view of hand ergonomics, the smartphone fits comfortably in any palm.

The Lumia 530's display is a weak point. It seems that the full impact of the savings aimed at creating a budget gadget was reflected on it.

But I hope you will forgive us for simplifying the terminology, because most people today understand that IPS means bright rich colors and large viewing angles, while its predecessor, TFT technology, cannot boast of this. There is enough brightness, but the colors lack richness, and at slight angles of inclination of the screen, the colors are inverted. The screen in this device, by the way, also serves as a proximity sensor. There is no sensor as such; the display goes out during a conversation when you touch the glass with your cheek.
To summarize, the 4-inch display is modest, but such is the fate of budget gadgets. Use for the Internet, watching videos, navigation, etc. they can do it without any particular pain, and, given the cost of the device, I see no reason to generate abundant dissatisfied cries from behind the screen...

Everything would be fine, but many people buy Nokia smartphones not in last resort because of the famous HERE navigation. But, since to use you need to download a map of your region, you need a certain minimum amount of memory (about a gigabyte) to install it. And here we are faced with a shortage of built-in gigabytes - even when trying to download a single map of the central region of Russia to a smartphone out of the box, the following message appears:
This is somewhat disappointing - especially if you did not purchase a memory card in advance... Since maps of one country (if it is small) or one region (if the Motherland is large) take up approximately a gigabyte, this had to be taken into account when creating the free amount of memory. After the display, this is the second one, due to which the device has affordable price. Five megapixels is, in general, a sufficient resolution for many: there are very, very many who regard the camera in a smartphone as an optional accessory. But in the absence of autofocus and at least a simple single-LED flash (which is also needed to use the phone as a flashlight!) the 5-megapixel camera looks very modest... There is, of course, no shutter button either - photos are taken by clicking on the screen. On a sunny day, the camera takes more or less decent pictures, which, however, are best viewed only on a smartphone display - you shouldn’t display them on large screens to avoid disappointment. Everything else - indoors, twilight, movement, etc., the camera takes pictures rather poorly... The only advantage of the savings, expressed in the absence of autofocus, is very fast shooting! The camera doesn't waste time analyzing the landscape and searching for contrasts to focus on, but takes the shot as soon as you touch the shutter icon. Oddly enough, I liked this mode - it’s very convenient to take pictures along the way. Quality is not cake at all, but, on the other hand, it is better to take a blurry photo quickly than to simply miss the subject while the focus of a good camera phone is “thinking.”
On the main screen of the camera there are buttons for turning on three main modes - “Photo”, “Series of photos” and “Video”.
You can make preliminary settings (but why?), or you can download and install various “Photo Applications” - additional proprietary and third-party programs with their own interfaces and functions for creating photo effects and post-processing images.

Since tests of various mobile accessories on Sotovik do not happen very often, I, whenever possible, try to include in my reviews some interesting things offered by smartphone manufacturers for their gadgets. Wireless chargers, smart watches, NFC tags, etc. Since the Lumia 530 does not shine with functionality, which is natural for a budget device, I decided to spice up the review with a fun accessory that can work both with this smartphone and with any other Nokia Lumia. The accessory is called Nokia Treasure Tag, and is a keychain tag for searching for objects - primarily keys and... the phone itself!
Actually, this modern analogue a good old gadget from the early 90s - a key fob that responds to a whistle. He whistled - it responded with a melodic trill, and you found the keys tumbled behind the sofa!
A tiny device combines two technologies wireless communication– Bluetooth and NFC. To work on searching for objects and a smartphone, a “blue tooth” is used - NFC is used only for easy pairing of the key fob with the phone. If your smartphone doesn’t have NFC, it doesn’t matter, everything works without it! The main thing is to install a special application of the same name from the Market:
The key fob works at a room distance - it is limited by the range of Bluetooth, which in principle is not a long-range interface. But for the home, Nokia Treasure Tag is quite enough - especially since if the lost item does not respond immediately (it is out of range), then as soon as you approach it at a sufficient distance, the signal will definitely sound - because the search continues.
An equally useful function is the search... for the smartphone itself! If you are alone at home and don’t have a second phone to dial your own number, you can take the keys with the Nokia Treasure Tag attached to them, press a button on it, and the smartphone will respond, indicating its location.
The device is powered by a “computer” coin cell battery, like the one used in Bios memory. It does not require regular charging (there is no connector for it!) and powers the gadget continuously for about six months, after which it is simply replaced, because it is inexpensive. To do this, the Treasure Tag case can be opened by lightly picking (for example, with the tip of scissors), while being protected from moisture - there is a rubber seal along the perimeter of the lid!

Quad-core processors in smartphones were once a symbol of the high class, but today every second state employee has them. The Lumia 530 is equipped with an inexpensive Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 MSM8212 processor with a frequency of 1200 MHz + Adreno 302 video processor. This is a “stone” with low performance by quad-core standards, which is also limited in its operation by the minimum possible amount of RAM of a smartphone. In the Winfonov version of the AnTuTu benchmark, the 530 scored 11,614 “parrots,” which is almost similar to another device with similar characteristics, the Lumia 630 (11,100 “parrots”), with a comparable 4-core processor and also 512 megabytes of RAM. With such characteristics, the smartphone operates quite smoothly (thanks primarily to the operating system), but, of course, you shouldn’t count on any significant performance feats in 3D games with it.
The gadget is powered by a battery with a capacity of 1430 mAh. The capacity looks frighteningly small - such batteries were installed in ordinary “dumb” phones and retro smartphones at the dawn of democracy. However, the gadget’s modest and undemanding screen allows this battery to power it for a day and a half, and with special efforts, even two.
Let's conduct a simple and visual test, which I traditionally use to evaluate battery efficiency - charge the battery to 100%, reboot the device to clear the memory of clogging programs, turn off all wireless interfaces except cellular communications, set the screen brightness and volume to maximum. We launch a movie in AVI format, lasting 1 hour 23 minutes and weighing 1.45 GB. After finishing the movie, we look at the remaining battery charge in comparison with a couple of other smartphones with not very capacious batteries. 70%, oddly enough... Not a bad result.

At the time of writing the review, the cost of the Lumia 530 in the store of one large metropolitan chain of household appliances and electronics (with the letter “U”, one of the two, but we won’t say which) was 4030 rubles, about which there is a notarized screenshot. As workhorse For that kind of money the device looks very attractive.
Hard advantages include support for two SIM cards, high speed quad-core processor, convenient dimensions, high-quality assembly with a scratch-resistant body that does not require a case, powerful sound when watching videos and speakerphone. The soft pluses include a traditional Lumiya excellent set of pre-installed software - free HERE navigation, built-in support for office files, “children's mode”, which allows you to limit the functions of the device in order to let a child play with it, the Nokia Music application, which gives access to a huge music library, from which you can download various collections via Wi-Fi and listen to them at any time without an Internet connection.
Of the minuses, of course, it is worth mentioning the short battery life, mediocre display and camera, which, of course, can upset someone who has previously used a smartphone in the middle and above average price category. But, however, the Lumia 530 is not offered as a “downshift” - it is an ideal entry-level device, working or backup.
