New Sony Cyber-shot™ cameras: Unrivaled image quality, enhanced Optical SteadyShot and Wi-Fi support. New in model range Sony Cyber-shot™ cameras open up new ways to share photos and capture meaningful moments, from flamboyant parties to personal portraits.
- Improved optical stabilization system Optical SteadyShot, effective even when using zoom.
- The updated Superior Auto mode gives best results when shooting moving objects.
- Wi-Fi support for easy photo sharing and data copying.
- Instantly retouch portraits with the new Beauty Effect filter.
- Advanced Flash technology enhances subject illumination when shooting from greater distances.
Slim and stylish, Sony Cyber-shot™ WX200, WX80 and WX60 cameras use the award-winning Exmor R™ CMOS sensor to capture crystal-clear, detail-rich photos and Full HD video.
New models with Exmor R™ CMOS sensors feature Optical SteadyShot, which is more than four times more effective than last year's models 1 at eliminating camera shake. This ensures clear, blur-free images even when zooming too far, which often results in poor quality results with other cameras. Camera shake is no longer a problem, regardless of zoom settings - from landscape photography wide angle lens before taking close-up shots.
The updated and improved Superior Auto mode on all three models with Exmor R™ CMOS sensor automatically determines the most appropriate settings for shooting in the current conditions. Cyber-shot™ cameras now recognize even more shooting scenarios, including low-light conditions. To achieve the best quality, the camera automatically adjusts settings when shooting in daylight or at dusk, confidently detecting movement in the frame for clear, blur-free photos.
With Wi-Fi support on the Cyber-shot™ WX200 and WX80, sharing photos has never been easier. By wireless communication you can send pictures in their original resolution to your smartphone or tablet and upload them to social media using the free Sony PlayMemories Mobile app. You can view photos directly from the camera on a network-connected TV, and copy any photos and videos to your PC without any cables.
In addition, with using Wi-Fi You can turn your smartphone into a convenient remote control for your Cyber-shot™ camera. It's like having a second shutter button at your fingertips, making it easy to take self-portraits and group shots of you. You can also control other camera functions using your smartphone, such as video recording, zoom, flash mode selection, self-timer, and photo preview 2 .
One of the new features in the Cyber-shot™ line this season is the Beauty Effect filter, which allows you to convey all the beauty of the people captured in your portraits. After shooting, the camera thoughtfully retouches the images, eliminating wrinkles and skin imperfections. The results are simply incredible! Moreover, she can edit shots with half-closed eyes, whiten teeth and remove shine from the forehead. The filter is equally effective for portraits of both women and men. It works instantly, automatically, and is much easier to use than graphic editors on a PC.
All new models also feature Advanced Flash camera sensitivity enhancement technology, which makes distant subjects brighter with the same flash output 3 . The long flash range is especially useful for shooting at indoor parties or at dusk, when the camera's built-in flash is not sufficient to capture the entire scene.
All models with Exmor R™ CMOS sensor are compatible with products that support new technology TRILUMINOS™ Color 4, allowing you to enjoy bright and rich colors. Videos and photos on any BRAVIA TV with TRILUMINOS Display will look more realistic and display a wider color palette.

Camera settingsSony Cyber Shot
The choice of shooting mode largely depends on what you are shooting, what lighting you are shooting it under and what you want from this photo. We change modes using the wheel on the camera, or in the shooting mode selection menu.
Auto mode
This is the simplest, one might say, standard mode in which the camera decides for you what settings it needs in this situation, suitable for ordinary photographs.
Don't panic if the changes you make cannot be undone. Try to do all the steps in reverse order, and if this does not help, or you have damaged your device, contact us for assistance. camera repairSony .
Program mode
This mode is not much different from automatic, but with it the photographer can make adjustments to the camera settings at any time.
Let's say we can change the white balance, while changing the warmth of colors, the transition from warm to cold and vice versa.
You can also adjust the exposure compensation of the photo, making the photo lighter or darker, depending on need. To do this, you need to press the control wheel and select the optimal correction value.
Aperture priority
Of course, Sony Cyber Shot is not a “DSLR”, but even in it you can play around with the aperture, that is, open it and close it, while we will blur the background, depending on the position of the same aperture. Of course, not as much as on DSLRs or mirrorless cameras; it is impossible to open more than f/2.8 and close more than f/8, and even less with a large zoom. But everything is fine, the ability to blur the background exists and you can safely use it to highlight the necessary fragments of the photo.
Shutter priority
This mode allows you to change the shutter speed of your photo to extra-long or extra-short. Here we will point out an example: with a long shutter speed when shooting water, it will blur, with a short shutter speed, on the contrary, it will split into drops.
To better understand this function, it is worth experimenting with it more often and finding the appropriate shutter speed for certain subjects. Of course, if you put a long or short shutter speed there is a chance that the camera will not be able to select the desired exposure, the picture will be either dark or light. Also, with a long shutter speed, you can beautifully blur moving light, be it car headlights or streetlights.
Manual mode
The most difficult mode, because when using it you need to set the shutter speed, aperture, and sensitivity at once. This is the longest mode, because it is difficult and time-consuming to find the right ratio of these three characteristics.
But, with proper work experience and quite unusual plots, it is with the help manual mode you can take wonderful photos. We have already written above about the settings that will have to be made in this mode.

Camera interface and settings
The camera software also raises complaints. By the way, the menu and interface here are almost the same as those of the compact superzoom Sony Cyber-shot WX300, which recently visited us. The Menu button launches a quick menu at the beginning, consisting of several screens and requiring scrolling. You can get to the main camera menu only by scrolling the quick menu to the very end. On the one hand, this is very inconvenient, but on the other hand, it reduces access to the main menu to a minimum, and most shooting settings are implemented in the quick menu.
The layout is also not very well executed. official information on display. A serious drawback can be considered the lack of information about the current ISO value if it is selected automatically. You can find out what ISO value the automation has chosen only in viewing mode. The Quick Menu does not contain focus point and ISO settings. The selection of the focus area is assigned to a separate key next to the shutter button. Well, ISO setting is done only using a wheel, which at first causes confusion. One button is reprogrammable.
Functionality
The Sony Cyber-shot HX300 is powered by a 20-megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensor own production. Compared with the previous Sony ultrasonic, the resolution has increased by two megapixels. This is two megapixels more than its predecessor. At the same time, the matrix format remained unchanged - 1/2.3 inches. Its sensitivity is adjustable from 80 to 12800 units. There is, of course, an automatic sensitivity selection mode, but in this case you cannot set the sensitivity range to be limited. However, the camera cannot be accused of excessively inflating ISO values.
The BIONZ processor ensures a high rate of fire of the device, as well as fast and smooth operation of the interface. Turning on the camera takes just under 3 seconds, taking into account the partial extension of the lens. Frequency burst shooting reaches 10 fps in full resolution with locked autofocus.
The Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* lens covers focal lengths from 24mm to 1200mm (35mm film equivalent). At the same time, its aperture narrows from F2.8 to F6.3. This is one of the fastest lenses with a 50x zoom. The lens moves from wide-angle to telephoto by moving the zoom lever in three seconds. At the same time, at the start of zooming, the increase occurs smoothly, but as the focal length increases, the zoom speed increases. It’s quite easy to skip the desired zoom value, say 40x or 45x.
