How to attract clients to an accounting firm. How to find clients for accounting services, business accounting

It is not easy to advertise accounting services. There is huge competition in the market for this type of service, and it is very difficult to win consumer loyalty, especially for beginning entrepreneurs. To promote your business providing accounting services, you need not only a sufficient advertising budget, but also a competent individual approach.

Internet advertising is very effective. However, promoting your page on the Internet for the most popular queries will be simply unrealistic. Therefore, promotion for lower-frequency specialized requests is used here. An effective means of advertising is contextual advertising. It will be very useful if interesting analytical and economic articles regularly appear on your website, which will reveal some narrow-profile topic.

At the same time, you can advertise the company’s services. The main thing is that advertising is unobtrusive. An effective option is to prepare newsletters to potential clients. In this case, the newsletter should be made really exciting and interesting. This type of interaction with potential clients can have a long-term effect. The customer will probably not need your services right away, but you will be able to form a friendly and trusting relationship with him, a loyal attitude towards your company, and he will definitely resort to the help of your specialists later.

How to advertise accounting services on the Internet

Advertising accounting services online can be quite inexpensive. For example, you can regularly post notes and promotional offers on free message boards. The advertising message itself should not be vague and target all groups of the population. Make sure that every part of the ad contains truly valuable and useful information about the work of your company. Highlight the main areas of activity of your company, provide some of the names of services indicating current prices and discounts.

In the field of advertising accounting services, word of mouth is very effective, as well as mutually beneficial affiliate advertising. You agree that other companies advertise you, and you advertise them. For example, you can leave advertising brochures at a legal or tax office. Satisfied clients are also good advertising for the company, and such clients will bring others if you ensure that they are truly satisfied with your work. Make sure that self-promotion works: complete orders on time, do not inflate prices, give discounts for regular customers, show loyalty. It is also effective to advertise accounting services in print media.

Features of outdoor advertising of accounting services

Billboards with advertising messages about accounting services would be best placed near the offices of the Federal Tax Service or banks. The advertising message should communicate the benefits of a competent approach to organizing accounting exactly when it is needed or there are doubts about the quality of the services provided. When designing a billboard, you can safely abandon elaborate visual solutions and place neat text that demonstrates your unique advantages over your closest competitors. Offer a solution to the problem - the person who sees the advertising message at the right time will become your most loyal customer

How to find clients for accounting services? You've probably seen offers on the Internet to buy a customer base. In this article we will tell you how to create your own database completely free of charge. What open sources contain important information about potential accounting clients?

This method is suitable if you decide to attract clients for accounting services yourself. Otherwise, you will need an agent to find clients for accounting services.

It is best to search for clients for accounting companies using the database of newly registered organizations and individual entrepreneurs.

1. Go to the website service.nalog.ru/uwsfind.do

Information about legal entities and individual entrepreneurs in respect of which documents for state registration have been submitted

2. Search for information

In the search details, select:

look for information

- about a legal entity

— about an individual entrepreneur

depending on who you want to offer your services to

3. Name of the legal entity

In the column " Name of the legal entity"we write: Society or Limited Liability Company or another form of legal entity, depending on who you want to offer your services to.

Accounting services are often required by such legal forms as: Homeowners' Partnership (HOA), Gardening Non-Profit Partnership (SNT), Non-Profit Partnership, Non-State Educational Institution NOU), etc.

Tip: write briefly. For example: “Society”, “Partnership”, “Gardening”.

Form of submitted document

In the “form of the submitted document” column, select P11001 - Application for the creation of a legal entity

5. Federal Tax Service to which the document was submitted

In the column "IFTS to which the document was submitted" select registering INFS of your city.

6. Period in which the document was submitted

Select a period. As a rule, this is the last quarter.

7. Getting search results

In the search results, we receive a list of both newly registered organizations and those who were denied registration for some reason.

In the list of registered organizations we see the OGRN number, which will be useful to us to obtain an electronic extract from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities.

8. Go to the website egrul.nalog.ru

Information on state registration of legal entities, individual entrepreneurs, peasant (farm) farms

We enter the received OGRN and receive an electronic statement with the potential client’s data.

However, this scheme has its drawbacks: such statements, as a rule, do not contain telephone numbers, only postal addresses to which a commercial offer can be sent.

How to get a more extended extract from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities?

Accounting firms already operating in the market use electronic reporting programs. You can also order an electronic statement through the same program.

Market for outsourcing accounting services in Moscow

The Russian market for outsourcing accounting services has existed for more than ten years, but the degree of its development cannot be called high from the point of view of world standards. In Russia as a whole, this service is used by 18% of large companies, 5% of medium-sized companies and more than 60% of individual entrepreneurs.

The main consumers of the service and specialized companies providing it are concentrated in Moscow, St. Petersburg and some other large cities, with Moscow leading: of all Russian providers, 30% are located in Moscow. According to the end of 2012, 40% of Moscow companies, enterprises and organizations have transferred their accounting to outsourcing, approximately 30% are in the process of transfer.

In 2012, the demand for provider services from legal entities decreased slightly, but the segment of private entrepreneurs showed their high demand. This was facilitated by recent changes to the Tax Code, which allowed legal entities to work with individual entrepreneurs without loss of gross income. Quite often, companies officially use the services of private accountants who work in a simplified manner.
Accounting outsourcing is very common in companies with foreign capital. A foreign partner and investor often requires a fundamentally new quality of accounting; in addition, such technology is the norm for the West.

The accounting segment of the market shows the highest growth dynamics due to the complexity and constant changes in regulatory documents in the field of accounting and tax accounting. Clients of outsourcers, for obvious reasons, want to ensure close monitoring of the taxation of their companies, to prevent unmotivated increases in taxes and to have the opportunity to challenge their assessment with the help of professionals.

Volume of the accounting services outsourcing market

There are 88 companies operating in this market sector, providing outsourcing services to 2,148 clients, and the market volume in 2012 amounted to about 2.5 billion rubles. The reform to transition enterprises to IFRS also caused an increase in demand for outsourcer services among 186 clients last year. The market volume in this segment amounted to 577.2 million rubles.
The market volume in the payroll segment increased in 2012 by 11% compared to 2011 and amounted to 1.2 billion rubles. There are 39 providers working here, serving 304 client companies.

In the area of providing reporting preparation services under RAS, the market volume amounted to 376 million rubles, the number of clients was 437.

The demand for accounting services is growing steadily, but the Moscow market cannot be called completely saturated. It is difficult to determine the exact figure; according to rough estimates, it did not even reach 50%.

Accounting services provided

In the industry structure of consumer demand for accounting outsourcing services, more than 80% of total revenue comes from trade, in second place is the construction industry, then in descending order are the oil and oil and gas industries, electric power, chemical industry, communications, housing and communal services, transport, financial organizations, mechanical engineering, food industry, healthcare, metallurgy and coal complex, production of building materials, education. In last place is public administration, but currently there is a steady interest of government agencies in accounting outsourcing.

In the structure of services provided by providers, accounting and tax accounting leads and accounts for 45% of the market volume, 20% - the share of payroll services, 10% - preparation of financial statements according to IFRS, 7% - reporting according to RAS. As the figures show, the most popular way to maintain all accounting is on a turnkey basis. The provider’s responsibilities include timely submission of reports, work with banks, tax inspectorates and other regulatory authorities, support of tax and audit inspections, archiving and storage of documents.

Competitive analysis of companies and private accountants in Moscow

In the accounting and tax accounting segment, the leader in terms of revenue is Intercomp CJSC, the second place is occupied by the UBM/Business Service company (Tatarstan), and the third place is taken by Femida-Audit. In the top ten, also in descending order by revenue: Finexpertiza, BDO, Mikhailov and Partners, EKFI, Delopolis, 2K Audit-Business Consulting/Morison International and LLC Financial and Tax Audit, part of WiseAdvice group.

In the payroll calculation segment, Intercomp is also the leader, followed by the personnel holding ANKOR, USIEMES Group LLC (Tatarstan), Unistaff Peyrol Solutions LLC, BDO, Energy Consulting, Finexpertiza, 2K Audit -Business Consulting/Morison International”, “Gorislavtsev and Company”, “Mikhailov and Partners”.

In the RAS reporting preparation outsourcing segment, places in the top ten were distributed as follows:

    "Intercomp";

    Energy Consulting;

    "AMB-Consulting";

    "Gorislavtsev and company";

    "Finexpertiza";

    "Business profile" (MGI);

    "Audit-A";

    "Audit-Stroy".

Top 10 in the segment of financial reporting preparation under IFRS:

    "Nexia CIS";

    "2K Audit-Business Consulting/Morison International";

    "Femida-Audit";

  1. "Gorislavtsev and company";

    "Intercomp";

    “A.D.E. Professional Solutions" (ADE Professional Solutions);

    "Baker Tilly Rusaudit";

    Business Profile (MGI).

The clients of the providers included in the ranking are representatives of large businesses. Medium and small enterprises and individual entrepreneurs use the services of small outsourcing companies or private accountants. The amount of work of providers in these cases is significantly less, and accordingly, the cost of their services is lower. However, due to the lack of employees and low taxation, the most famous private accountants in Moscow successfully compete with some providers in terms of quality of work and established prices.

According to experts, private accountants occupy about half of the outsourcing market (there are no statistics for 2012). These are individual home-based entrepreneurs, officially registered. There is also a considerable “illegal market” of private providers, the size of which is impossible to estimate.

A typical representative of a private accountant's clientele is a trading company with a staff of up to 20 people, the volume of turnover of primary documents of which is 500-600 units. Enterprises that have switched to a simplified taxation system and a single tax on imputed income also use private services.

The demand for private services in Moscow is not decreasing not only due to their lower cost. Large companies that outsource their accounting to well-known providers have a fairly transparent business and comply with tax laws. And an experienced private accountant has several options for reducing tax payments, which is especially important for small and medium-sized businesses in the initial stages of development.

The factors determining the insufficient saturation of the accounting outsourcing market in Moscow are, first of all, low awareness of this service and its advantages in the field of medium and small businesses. The second factor is insufficient trust in the provider. Business owners are afraid to transfer confidential information to third parties, and are also worried about monitoring the outsourcer’s work and compensation for losses in case of serious errors. These problems can be solved through proper drafting of contracts.

Another important factor hindering the development of the outsourcing sector is the lack of trained personnel. In 2010, the Russian Association of Strategic Outsourcing ASTRA became an affiliate member of the global outsourcing association IAOP (International Association of Outsourcing Professionals), and its local division was created in Moscow. The plans include organizing training programs for outsourcers, developing and promoting domestic outsourcing to the world market.

The improvement of regulatory documents in the field of finance, Russia's entry into the global outsourcing platform, the steady growth in demand for the service, as well as the increase in its supply, allow us to fairly optimistically assess the growth prospects of this market sector.

The transfer of accounting functions to a professional firm has been practiced all over the world throughout the entire period of the existence of states and monetary circulation systems. In recent years, this practice has become widespread not only in foreign countries, but also in Russia. In Yekaterinburg, accounting services are very popular.

There are many advantages to this service. Experienced specialists from a professional company will set up accounting in your organization, develop tactics for carrying out business activities, ensure timely and competent preparation of financial statements, protecting you from unnecessary worries and problems.

Among the obvious advantages of accounting services for an LLC or individual entrepreneur to a third-party company, we can highlight two situations that arise most often, and the solution of which requires a professional special approach.

Advantages of third party accounting

  • Any specialist may leave your company, or you will have a desire to change the chief accountant for objective or subjective reasons. What often happens when you change accountant? After a change of specialist, errors often emerge in the organization’s accounting records, and some documents may be lost. And all these unpleasant moments are clarified during a tax audit.

    How to promote accounting services?

    You are insured against such a situation when cooperating with our company. All information is stored in archives and is available at any time, regardless of the change of employees and the length of time the archives are stored.

  • When carrying out accounting, many controversial issues arise, because our legislation changes frequently and tracking these changes is sometimes quite difficult. Our firm’s specialists make decisions together with qualified lawyers, which eliminates the possibility of mistakes. And the financial costs of independent consultations are many times higher than the payment for our activities.

Maintaining the accounting records of an organization includes checking the execution of all accounting documents, preparing any accounting documents, creating registers, calculating wages, tax payments, etc.

The demand for accounting services is growing following the number of annual reports. The market in this area is far from saturated, especially in medium and small Russian cities.

In recent years, enterprises have been actively outsourcing accounting. This is driven by endless changes in legislation, an increase in the number of reports to the Federal Tax Service, the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation, and the transition to electronic document management. The services of specialists keeping records at home have become less in demand. Many of them would like to open their own accounting services business, but do not know how or where to start.

In most cases, for an experienced accountant who is accustomed to communicating with government agencies, including the Federal Tax Service, it is not difficult to register a company and choose a tax regime. One way or another, they have encountered this at work and know where to get advice. Another thing is the organization of the company's work. Many people have questions here:

  1. How much accounting services are in demand, and where is this niche freer?
  2. how to develop a client base, where to look for potential customers;
  3. how to effectively organize the work of a company so that it generates income;

Brief overview: demand for services by region

Accounting outsourcing developed like an avalanche until 2013 (Fig. 1). During the recession, the number of organizations starting this business for the first time decreased. However, according to the Expert RA agency, the income of the 80 largest market participants in 2015 increased by 8%. In total, during the period from 2001 to May 2015, about 20% of newly opened companies ceased operations, and this indicates the stable operation of the vast majority of them.

Demand has decreased mainly for the preparation of financial statements according to IFRS standards, as many foreign organizations have left Russia. The main group of services - accounting and tax accounting - are still in demand (Fig. 2). According to experts, the demand for them will increase.

However, the number of open accounting firms in the country has increased significantly in recent years. In big cities there is significant competition, but in the periphery this niche is not filled everywhere. Small town entrepreneurs consider the lack of qualified services to be one of their main problems. Table 1 shows the number of companies in different regions operating in the field of accounting. Using these data, you can indirectly assess how free a niche is in a particular region.

An entrepreneur who is thinking about how to open an accounting firm should understand that you shouldn’t count on high incomes right away. One of the Kontur.accounting forums published the result of a survey of participants, from which it can be seen that about 30% of those who voted earn from 70 to 250 thousand rubles per month (Fig. 3). New companies often start by servicing individual entrepreneurs and small businesses, but as their potential and reputation grow, large customers appear.

Organization of work of an outsourcing company

Registration of an enterprise, as a rule, does not cause problems for a novice accountant entrepreneur who has experience in dealing with the Federal Tax Service. It can be created either in the form of an individual entrepreneur or an LLC. The type of activity from July 11, 2016 is selected according to the new reference book OK 029-2014 (NACE Rev. 2): 69.20 - activities for the provision of accounting services, auditing, tax consulting, including maintaining, setting up, restoring accounting, submitting reports. Typically, a simplified tax regime is chosen. Entry to this market is still free. To open an accounting firm, you do not need to obtain a license and join an SRO, as for auditors.

Much more questions arise in terms of organization, because within a company it is very different from keeping records at home and the work of a chief accountant. Often a company begins with the fact that a high-level specialist cannot cope with the volume of orders and begins to look for assistants. He either organizes a new enterprise or buys out an existing one. Some clientele and at least a small cash flow are usually already available at the start. But very soon he faces two tasks:

  • searching for clients - employees need to be paid regularly;
  • building effective work - this determines the cost of services.

Several ways: where and how to look for customers

1. The search can be carried out using the open database of the Federal Tax Service among organizations and entrepreneurs who have submitted an application for registration (https://service.nalog.ru/uwsfind.do).

During the first 3 - 4 months of work, the issue with the accountant is often not yet resolved.

It is for this reason that many outsourcing firms engage in business registration. In most cases, if the service was provided with high quality, then the client orders accounting services from a trusted company.

As a result of the search, a list appears containing the OGRN.

Next, using the service https://egrul.nalog.ru/ you can get an extract indicating the size of the authorized capital, the legal address of the director, and telephone number.

2. Creation of a website describing services.

According to marketing research, individual entrepreneurs and small businesses are more likely to search for an accounting firm on the Internet. This is their usual way of obtaining information. Despite the fact that many automated accounting services are now offered, many are more accustomed to working with people. After all, not everyone is well versed in IT technologies; some do not want to spend time mastering programs.

They select the first 3-5 companies, then call them, compare prices, and evaluate the quality of communication. If the results of the first visit are satisfactory, they sign a contract for services; if not, they move on. Face-to-face negotiations are very important, after which the final decision is made. Therefore, for the site you need to carefully select key queries for which a potential customer searches. Information that matters when choosing:

  • price list for services - it is better when their cost is average between the salary of a “coming” accountant and a good full-time specialist;
  • location of the company - visits usually begin with companies located in their own or neighboring area;
  • availability of contact information - a valid telephone number must be indicated, verification begins with a call;
  • sample contract with commentary - this allows you to draw conclusions about the quality of work and certain guarantees from the company.

The design style of the site and the reviews provided on it practically do not matter.

Articles in specialized publications and popular local newspapers have a good effect. And it’s better if this is not naked advertising, but publications on current issues of accounting and taxes. They are used to assess the level of competence of a specialist and inspire confidence. The same goal is pursued by giving reports at various presentations, meetings, seminars - business cards are left there, and necessary contacts are made.

According to surveys of marketers, medium-sized enterprises, when switching to accounting outsourcing, are more likely to rely on recommendations and reviews. Therefore, it is useful to distribute advertising brochures and business cards through clients, familiar members of the local business community. Not only commercial enterprises are interested in outsourcing. State and municipal institutions are increasingly placing such orders on the public procurement website - this search method should not be ignored.

Typical operation scheme

The price of accounting services depends on the salary of working specialists; it is almost impossible to reduce it. At the same time, a common mistake of beginning entrepreneurs is organizing work according to the principle: one accountant/one client (or several). This often results in:

  1. the customer “entices” the specialist working with him;
  2. The accountant quits and takes his clients with him.

In addition, the employee's workload has physical limits. It is considered optimal to distribute functions between specialists so that direct communication with the customer remains only with the manager or responsible specialist (Fig. 4). Group organization of work does not require equally high qualifications of all specialists, and this makes it possible to save on wages.

It is very important to develop a flexible price list that provides differentiated tariffs for different customers, for example:

  • “zero” - for newly created organizations with a zero balance;
  • basic - for companies with a relatively small volume of documents;
  • negotiable - for those who order a full range of services.

The client base should be regularly replenished, since entrepreneurs who have found their feet often prefer to hire “their” accountant. For stable operation, it should grow by 20 - 25% per year. For example, if a company serves 20 clients, it is advisable to conclude 4 - 5 new contracts annually.

Outsourcing companies primarily compete on prices, but dumping has limitations. The strategies of successful companies have some kind of “zest”. This may be a narrow specialization: credit servicing, work with individual entrepreneurs, or, conversely, a wide range of services, including legal ones: registration, liquidation of organizations.

You can open a company providing accounting services and start a franchise business; there are such offers on the market (Billprof and others). The biggest success: entering the “blue ocean”, that is, a new untapped niche. One of these areas: aggregators in various market sectors, working with a large number of individual entrepreneurs and accumulating a significant volume of documents: online taxi services, insurance companies, Internet advertising platforms. Below is an example of a non-standard approach: an accounting service business was launched by a programmer and a bank employee.

Knopka LLC, Yekaterinburg, initial investment 1.5 million rubles.

The company was founded in 2013 by former employees of Bank24.ru and SKB Contour, headed by Eduard Panteleev. They created a mobile office for entrepreneurs, which takes care of all administrative, accounting and legal issues, working online. By mid-2015, almost 600 entrepreneurs had joined it, and the company already had 130 employees. The cost of the minimum package of services is 24 thousand per month.

To summarize, we note: the need for accounting services will always be. At the same time, during periods of crisis there is a tendency: large companies lose customers, and small ones gain. The focus on saving forces customers to look for cheaper, “clean” services, without frills.
