Today things are different. In the United States and European countries, the volume of the horizontal drilling market is more than 95% of the entire gasket market. In Russia, the method of horizontally directional drilling is under development. The GNB technology is approved and recommended by the Gosstroke of the Russian Federation for the construction of underground communications. The drilling machine operator sees the same information on the repeater screen, so the information is broadcast for two screens: the location operator (locator) and the operator of the drilling rig.
  3. Radiocoupling is organized between the locator and the operator of the installation of the SNB. It is the operator of a local radio installation that gives commands to the OBB operator. The SNB operator in turn performs its commands and adjusts the movement of the drilling tool, the angle of inclination and angle of rotation, if necessary. He also sees all changes in the actual position of the drilling head on the repeater screen.

Thus, the probe mounted in the drill head transmits information about its location, also fixes the depth, angle of inclination and angle of rotation, temperature and other parameters. The signal is received by the ground locator, after which the information is converted to the readable format and is transmitted to two displays: the receiver's display and repeater screen.


The location operator accompanies the drill head and sees information on the locator screen. The drilling machine operator sees the same information on the repeater screen. Between the locator and the operator of the SNB installation, radio communication is organized by means of radiation. It is the local locator that manages the process, it submits commands to the OBB operator, about which actions it should perform (to what angle to turn the drill head, to drill with rotation or crushing the rods, etc.) it promptly adjusts the drilling head direction according to the directions. In case of deviation of the head from the project direction, the OPB operator changes the trajectory of the drill movement, bypassing underground obstacles to avoid collisions with underground communications: pipelines -Gazo, -DO and pipelines, manifolds, telephone lines, etc. The drilling operation of the pilot well is completed with the output Drilling head in the installed place.
